Monetising AI chatbots in WordPress — with no user accounts

Five AI personas, a freemium paywall and Nordic Swish payments — built as a custom WordPress plugin that charges users without ever asking them to register.

5 AI personas with distinct prompts and identities
0 user accounts required to pay

An astrology and wellness platform wanted to turn its free AI chat traffic into revenue — without the sign-up friction that kills conversion on casual consumer sites.

The challenge

  • Charge users seamlessly after a few free interactions — with no account creation at all.
  • One generic bot was not engaging enough; the product needed distinct personas.
  • Payments had to run through Swish, the Nordic mobile payment method, including full sandbox testing.

What we did

  • Built a custom WordPress plugin with cookie-based session tracking: 3–5 free questions, then a payment prompt.
  • Integrated the Swish API end to end, from sandbox testing through the production credential switch, deployed with zero downtime.
  • Created a selection hub of five AI personas — each with its own prompt configuration, avatar and personality.

The outcome

The site now earns direct revenue from traffic that used to be free, users explore multiple personas instead of bouncing off one bot, and the cookie-based model respects visitors’ time and privacy by never demanding personal data.

“We wanted a complex paywall flow without the headache of user accounts, and you delivered perfectly.” — product manager

Adding a revenue-generating feature to a live PHP system is exactly the shape of our product development and integrations work.
